Who can apply for an OCI card
Final eligibility is always determined by the Government of India. The summary below is for general guidance.
Persons of Indian Origin
Foreign nationals who were Indian citizens, or are descendants of Indian citizens (parents, grandparents, or great-grandparents), may generally apply.
Spouses of Indian Citizens / OCI Holders
Spouses of Indian citizens or existing OCI holders may apply, subject to marriage validity and duration conditions set by the government.
Minor Children
Minor children of eligible applicants may generally be included, subject to documentation of parentage and consent.
